Other Accommodations

There are many other options for accommodations in Kerrville and the surrounding Hill Country. There is an abundance of hotels, camping facilities, RV parks and self-catering cabins. The first places to look for other hotels or motels would be these three sites:

Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau
Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce
Texas Hill Country Visitor Guide

Once you have chosen lodging, you can go to one of the many travel websites to find the best deal. Remember that some of the cabin facilities have a minimum of 2- or 3-night stays, especially in peak season and single accommodation can also be rather hard to find in these.

Camping

For campers, the largest and most convenient choice is Kerrville-Schreiner Park. This 517-acre camping park on the Guadalupe River about 2 miles from the ride starts at the University offers both tent sites and RV parking. About half of EHCT cyclists stay here. Formerly a part of the Texas Parks system, this park is now operated by the City of Kerrville, which has recently renovated many of the facilities. There are two main sections of the park: the lower along the Guadalupe River, and the upper, across the highway and up the hill from the ranger station. The majority of tent sites are in the uphill section. The Park seldom fills to capacity for Easter weekend, but you should book early to assure availability. For more information, contact the park.

Meals

All meals are on your own. There is a wide choice of restaurants and cafes in Kerrville to suit every budget and taste. The Visitors Bureau, Visitor Guide, and Chamber of Commerce sites listed above all have dining sections. The Yelp and TripAdvisor sites offer some more ideas. Nearly all the hotel chains offer complementary breakfasts that are adequate for most guests.

For those camping and preparing your own meals, Kerrville has a large HEB grocery store at 300 Main Street as well as a large number of smaller groceries and convenience stores. Be sure to check Easter opening hours of all restaurants and shops.
